Yes. The NESTA Personal Fitness Trainer (PFT) certification is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA), the same accreditation held by NASM and ACE. It's the only NCCA-accredited personal trainer certification you renew every 4 years instead of 2. See all of our accreditations and approvals.
Are all NESTA courses NCCA-accredited?
No. The PFT is NESTA's NCCA-accredited certification. The MMA Conditioning Coach and Triathlon Coach certifications renew every 2 years, and our other specialty courses give you a lifetime credential with no renewal. Every course is approved for 20 ISSA CECs.
Which certification should I start with?
If you want to train clients and aren't certified yet, start with the PFT. If you're already certified, add a specialty that fits the clients you want, or save with the Master Personal Trainer, which includes 6 certifications. Still unsure? Take the 2-minute course finder.
How do the courses and exams work?
You study online at your own pace and get access as soon as you enroll. Specialty course exams are taken online. The PFT exam is proctored at a PSI testing center, or with an approved private proctor if you live outside North America.
Can I pay over time?
Yes. Many programs offer payment plans, and you can also pay over time with Affirm at checkout. For example, you can start the PFT for $69 today, then make 5 monthly payments of $129.
What if I change my mind?
You can request a full refund within 3 business days of your purchase date, as long as you have not started any course exam. Refunds go to your original payment method, usually within 5–10 business days, and your course access ends when we issue the refund. See our 3-Day Refund Policy.
